3D Scanning Calgary

MMD Studio provides local 3D scanning services in Calgary for product parts, prototypes, workshop components, automotive pieces, interior objects, and custom one-off projects.

3D scanning is useful when you need accurate digital geometry from a real object for documentation, reverse engineering, fitment checks, CAD redesign, 3D printing, or composite fabrication.

Services

• Basic object scan — quick scan of a simple part or object, supplied as STL/OBJ/PLY where suitable.
• Detailed part scan — higher-detail scan, alignment, cleanup, and export for design or fabrication work.
• Scan for reverse engineering — scan data prepared as a reference for CAD reconstruction.
• Local Calgary scan session — bring the part to MMD Studio or request a local on-site scan when the object cannot be moved.
• Automotive and interior object scanning — parts, trim pieces, covers, brackets, panels, and custom-fit components.

Estimated Pricing

Final pricing depends on size, surface finish, part complexity, required accuracy, and how much cleanup is needed.

• Basic small object scan: from CAD $95
• Standard part scan and cleaned mesh: CAD $150–$350
• Detailed scan with multiple angles and cleanup: CAD $300–$650+
• Scan session / technical time: CAD $85–$120 per hour, usually 1.5 hour minimum
• Local on-site Calgary visit: from CAD $150, plus scanning and processing time
• Scan-to-CAD work: quoted separately under reverse engineering

Deliverables

• STL, OBJ, or PLY mesh files
• Cleaned reference mesh for CAD or 3D printing
• Basic measurements where possible
• CAD reconstruction available as a separate service

Please send photos, approximate dimensions, material/surface information, required file type, and what the scan will be used for. Dark, glossy, transparent, flexible, or very thin objects may require additional preparation.
