MMD Studio works with carbon fiber and epoxy systems for custom visual finishes, interior and automotive parts, prototype panels, covers, and lightweight composite components.

This department has two main directions: carbon lamination over existing objects and custom carbon fiber part creation using composite layup and vacuum infusion methods.

Carbon Lamination

Carbon lamination is used when an existing part or surface needs a real carbon fiber and epoxy finish. This can be decorative, protective, or part of a custom interior or automotive build.

Vacuum Infusion Carbon Parts

Vacuum infusion is used to create composite parts with controlled resin flow and cleaner fiber-to-resin ratio. It is best suited for custom panels, covers, lightweight prototypes, and repeatable parts where a mold or prepared surface is available.

  • Composite shop/design time: CAD $85–$140 per hour

  • Part size and shape complexity
  • Carbon fabric type and visual orientation
  • Surface preparation and repair work
  • Epoxy system, cure time, sanding, and finishing requirements
  • Whether a mold already exists or must be created
  • Desired finish: raw, sanded, gloss, satin, or ready for clear coat
